Tate Wadsworth, horn
Tate Wadsworth began his studies of the horn at the age of 11 while studying with Benjamin Garrett and later Mike Hettwer, of Salem, Oregon. This past Fall, Tate, now a sophomore, has continued to further his study of the horn under the direction of Dr. Jon Klein, as he pursues a Bachelor degree in Music Performance at Brigham Young University-Idaho. While a highschool senior, Tate was selected as the principal horn and soloist of the All-State Oregon Wind Ensemble for 2017. More recently as a freshman at BYU-Idaho, Tate was a finalist in the semi-annual concerto competition hosted by the department of music for his university. On occasion Tate can be found on stage with the Idaho Falls Symphony, fulfilling the role of assistant principal horn. When not attending the university, Tate can be found working for a children's museum in his hometown. In the time not playing his horn, he says his free time is best spent outdoors, exercising, thrift shopping, or working on his novel.
