Missy Mazzoli is founder and keyboardist for Victoire, an electro-acoustic band dedicated to performing her music.
Anna Clyne and Missy Mazzoli were both born in 1980.
Florence Price made her career in Chicago and was the first African-American woman composer to have a work premiered by a major American orchestra: the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in 1933 with her First Symphony.
This will be the third solo appearance by the Symphony’s principal violist, Dr. Lisa McNiven, after beautiful performances of the Bartok Viola Concerto and Mozart’s double concerto, the Sinfonia Concertante, with Emma Rubinstein.
