Stirring Resonance

Saturday, March 18th, 2017
Idaho Falls Civic Auditorium
Pre-concert Discussion starting at 6:30pm

Ralph Vaughan Williams         Five Variants on “Dives and Lazarus” (1939)
Zoltán Kodály                        Dances of Galánta (1933)
Dmitry Shostakovich              Cello Concerto No. 1 in E-flat Major, Op. 107 (1959)

Our principal cellist, Dr. Robert Tueller, steps out of the orchestra to perform the stirring Cello Concerto No. 1 by Dmitry Shostakovich. The lush string music of Vaughan Williams provides a sonorous prelude to Kodály’s eclectic suite of flashy Galánta dances. Enjoy the combination of three bold works from the 20th century.

Welcome to the Idaho Falls Symphony

In consideration of our patrons and artists, children must be age six to attend performances of the Idaho Falls Symphony.

We are proud and honored to have been part of the Idaho Falls community since 1949. Our mission to perform the world’s great music continues, thanks to our impressive team of musicians, our sponsors, and the tireless volunteers that make up the Symphony family.
